Parent Advisory Council
Dr. Mckendrick is looking to start a parent advisory council next year. Each school in the system will have 1-2 representatives. They will meet 3-4 times a year. It is a great way to hear about things going on or let your opinions be heard. If anyone is interested in being on this council please email ewilson126@comcast.net
Also if anyone is interested in serving as the Grants Committee Chair on PTA next year please let Julie Wilson know.
Remembrance Service
On Monday, April 23rd there will be a “Remembrance Service” at 6:00pm on the front steps of the Tuscaloosa City Schools ‘central office’. All are invited to attend.
Book and Storage Tub Drive for Center Point Elementary
WHAT: Book and Storage Tub Drive for Center Point Elementary
WHEN: April 9-13
After a tornado ripped through their small city, Center Point Elementary lost everything. Their K-2 school was destroyed along with all of their supplies. Various communities around Alabama have reached out to this school and helped to donate supplies needed. The students and teachers have been relocated, and many are moving this week into portable classrooms until their school is rebuilt. The teachers have said they need storage containers to store supplies, books, and centers. They also need books of all levels for the children to read. Our Rock Quarry National Elementary Honor Society would like to enlist your help! Beginnning Monday, April 9, we will be collecting small plastic storage containers, small crates for storing books, even medium-sized storage tubs. We are also collecting picture and chapter books of all levels. The drive will conclude at the end of the week, so PLEASE give. We can all be leaders by giving and making a difference
Leader Lunch
Congratulations to these students for being recognized for exhibiting leadership qualities in and around the school. These students are on the road to being successful leaders.
Important Information!
When school buses are in the lines loading and/or unloading, traffic should not pass the buses. The police will begin writing tickets for those passing the buses when the ‘stop’ sign is out and children are loading.
